Juneteenth 2022

Families, children, volunteers, and community members came out to our Juneteenth Celebration 2022! It was a hot day but we had a good time. Food trucks kept everyone well fed with everything from tacos to hot dogs to slushies.

We honored Bo Washington for his 20 years of service at WCC.

We also gave a posthumous award to the late Venson Cumby, who was an athlete at Bartlesville’s Douglass High School and the first African-American student-athlete to go out for College High football team.

“This award is for Venson Cumby, a loyal Douglass Dragon, who was devoted and greatly revered for paving the way to diversity and inclusion in the Bartlesville community,” said Chenin Patton, Executive Director of WCC.

The award was accepted by Mr. Cumby’s nephew Gerald Thompson, aka Coach T.

Thank you to all our sponsors and vendors and volunteers! See you at Juneteenth 2023.
